Settle Inn, La Crosse

Just 3 miles away from University of Wisconsin La Crosse, this hotel is located off of Highway 53 in La Crosse and offers an indoor pool, complimentary continental breakfast and free WiFi. All of the 96 rooms at Settle Inn & Suites La Crosse provide a cable TV with premium movie channels, along with a desk and chair. A coffee maker is also included. La Crosse Family Restaurant is adjacent to the hotel and offers all day breakfast, along with traditional American classics for lunch and dinner. There are also vending machines on-site.

Road Star Inn is a budget hotel serving the lodging needs of Madison, Wisconsin. Located only a few blocks from the West Towne Mall and Woodman’s Grocery, guests won’t have to look far to find what they need during their stay here in Madison.  This hotel is just 7 miles from the University of Wisconsin and downtown State Street. The Olbrich Botanical Gardens and Wisconsin Historical Museum are within a 20-minute drive of the hotel. The hotel features free Wi-Fi, a continental breakfast and guest rooms with microwaves and refrigerators. This 92 room hotel is located directly off the Beltline off of the Gammon Road exit.

 

Employ Milwaukee 

Employ Milwaukee works with companies across southeastern Wisconsin through an integrated, sector-based workforce strategy. Employ Milwaukee’s Business Solutions team assists companies with worker recruitment and screening. They provide soft skills training and job readiness for potential employees. Additionally, they offer On-The-Job Training and Specialized Training. The support doesn’t end there, they continue to provide retention and supportive services.

The goal is to ensure that qualified candidates are available so employers can save valuable time and resources. They do this through pre-screening and pre-employment testing. Additionally, they provide soft skills training and job readiness to give potential employees skills that will help them to be successful in the workplace.

Congratulations to the following WH&LA members on their recent awards & recognition!

Courtyard by Marriott-Madison East was named 2013 Hotel of the Year by Marriott International. This is the third year in a row a North Central Group property has won the award.

Kress Inn, De Pere, won the 2014 Platinum Hospitality Award from Choice Hotels International Inc. The award recognizes Kress Inn as being in the top percentage of properties within the Ascend Hotel Collection brand.

Occupancy was up in Wisconsin for May 2012 compared to May 2011 and nearly all market areas saw an increase in occupancy, with the largest increase in Door County. ADR was up statewide compared to May 2011, with the largest increase in Madison.

Congratulations to the following WH&LA members on their recent awards & achievements!

Amy Simchak, CHA, of The North Central Group, Middleton, has been elected to the WH&LA Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Jefferson Street Inn, Wausau, and HotelRED, Madison, were both awarded TripAdvisor’s 2012 Certificate of Excellence, in recognition of consistent commendation from travelers.

The Pfister Hotel, Milwaukee, was ranked #13 in TripAdvisor’s 2012 Travelers’ Choice Top 25 Luxury Hotels in the United States.

Cambria Suites, Madison, was ranked #21 in TripAdvisor’s 2012 Travelers’ Choice Top 25 Bargain Hotels in the United States.

Past WH&LA Student Representative Ksenia Hedeen was named one of four Outstanding Students by Waukesha County Technical College at the Spring Commencement Ceremony on May 23. Among many co-curricular activities, she served as chair of the college’s Hospitality and Culinary Club.

The Hyatt Regency Milwaukee was the first property to be named the World Wide Sales “Franchise Hotel Partner of the Year” in 2011, the award’s inaugural year. The award is based on customer recognition, attendance at industry and Hyatt-sponsored events, response time to group requests for proposals, emulation of Hyatt’s mission and more.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Madison was recently awarded their sixth straight Pride Award, presented to the top 10 DoubleTree properties based on brand consistency, guest loyalty, and DoubleTree brand promise report, which includes guest survey scores in various categories.

Congratulations to the following WH&LA members on their recent awards & recognition:

The American Club Resort, Kohler, was awarded the 2012 Forbes Five-Star Award, one of 57 hotels worldwide to earn this distinction. The award recognizes superior service and guest satisfaction, and has been awarded to The American Club Resort for three straight years.

Crowne Plaza Milwaukee West, Wauwatosa, has received the Torchbearer Award from InterContinental Hotels Group, its highest honor for quality and customer service, awarded to only the top eight Crowne Plaza hotels in North America. The property has also been named one of the brand’s top performers for excellence in operational and customer satisfaction for the second consecutive year.

Holiday Inn Madison at the American Center has also received the InterContinental Hotels Group Torchbearer Award, one of 116 properties out of more than 4,400 properties to receive the award.
