Reservations links at your listing page

Is all the info on your WH&LA listing page up to date?

Take a look at your listing page by visiting wisconsinlodging.org and searching for your property in the Quick Links box in the left sidebar. Click on your property’s link on the search results page to view your listing page. Does your reservations link work? Do you have a photo of your property? Are your listed amenities accurate? Are your Facebook and Twitter links listed?

To make updates to any of the info e-mail Michelle in the WH&LA office or download & complete the Property Information Form and e-mail or fax it back to WH&LA at 262/782-0550.

Does your property have a listing page photo?

With an average of 18,000 visitors to wisconsinlodging.org each month, WH&LA member properties have a great opportunity to reach the traveling public. Make sure your listing page showcases the very best your property has to offer by including a photo on your page!

Listing page photos can be updated as often as you like and are totally free! Showcase your snowmobile trails in the winter and your outdoor pool in the summer, or keep a great interior shot up all year round. If you don’t currently have a photo, or would like to change your photo, simply send the image to Michelle in the WH&LA office. Property descriptions, e-mail addresses, contact info and amenities can be updated by e-mailing changes to Michelle, logging into the Members Only portal and clicking the “View/Update Member Profile” link, or downloading the Property Info Form and faxing it back to WH&LA at 262/782-2851.

New Travel Wisconsin iPhone App

The WI Dept of Tourism recently announced that they will soon be debuting their new iPhone app, available for free download from Apple’s iTunes store.

According to the Dept, this mobile application “will allow consumers to have on-the-go access to accommodations, events, attractions and dining options in Wisconsin, all in the palm of their hand.” Information for the app will be pulled directly from the TravelWisconsin.com web site.

We encourage WH&LA members to review your listing at TravelWisconsin.com and ensure you have the most recent, up-to-date information on your property displayed.  To update any of your property information, please contact the WH&LA office for assistance.  As a reminder, your TravelWisconsin.com web site listing can include up to five (5) property photos as well.

Again, there is no fee to update any of your property information, simply contact the WH&LA office and we can take care of the rest!

WI Dept of Revenue- Publication 216

Publication 216, Filing Claims For Refund of Sales and Use Taxes, has been revised and is available for download here.

“This publication explains who may file a claim for refund of Wisconsin state, county, and stadium sales or use tax. It also includes information relating to forms, time limitations for filing, interest and penalties.”

Nominate an Innkeeper and Associate of the Year

WH&LA is now accepting nominations for 2010 Innkeeper, Associate and Employee of the Year awards.

All nominees must be employed by a current WH&LA member. An official nomination form must be submitted for each nominee, which can be downloaded here. Once WH&LA receives a nomination, staff will notify the nominee by forwarding a 2010 Official Entry Form, which notes the award criteria and the materials needed for review by the judging committee. Judging will be performed by the Awards Committee. The entry form will list all judging criteria in detail.

All submitted materials become property of WH&LA and will not be returned. In fairness to all candidates, no extensions will be permitted in the case of missed deadlines. Recent recipients ineligible for the 2010 award include innkeepers Brian Brandstetter, Kari Zambon and Buck Drossart; and Associates Joe Holland, Doug Nysse and Barry Chaet.

Completed nomination forms should be returned to the WH&LA office via mail, fax or e-mail no later than August 6, 2010. Download a copy of the nomination form here, or contact the WH&LA office at 262/782-2851 or service@wisconsinlodging.org.
