Last year, Wisconsin’s travelers spent $12.3 billion making tourism big business for the state and is a significant contributor to Wisconsin’s high quality of life.  The full details are available for download in the 2010 Economic Impact of Traveler Spending on Wisconsin report.

Occupancy was up in Wisconsin in March 2011 compared to March 2010 and nearly all market areas saw an increase in occupancy, with the largest increase in Green Bay MSA. ADR was also up statewide compared to March 2010, with the largest increase in Appleton/Oshkosh MSA.

We’ve got 12 exceptional finalists in the 2012 Wisconsin Lodging Directory Cover Contest! Voting is open until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, and the contest winner will be announced at the Stay in Wisconsin blog on Tuesday, May 10!

All WH&LA member lodging properties are listed in the Wisconsin Lodging Directory each year as a free membership benefit. The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) has named WH&LA Chairman of the Board, Robert Y. Dove, Jr. of the Best Western Bridgewood Resort Hotel, Neenah a winner of the State Leadership Award for Wisconsin at the association’s annual Legislative Action Summit in March.

The State Leadership Awards, formerly known as the Most Valuable Volunteer Awards, were created in 1998 to honor standout members in each partner state association who help implement and strengthen programs. Below Dove is pictured with AH&LA Chairman John Campbell and AH&LA President, CEO Joe McInerney at the Legislative Action Summit in Washington, D.C.
